Welcome to St John’s RC School
St John’s RC School is a non-maintained special school offering day provision for pupils aged 5 to 19 with a wide range of needs including moderate to severe learning difficulties, autistic spectrum disorder (ASD) and those with associated speech, language and communication difficulties.
Since September 2015, we have been in partnership with New City College and provide a 19-25 provision for those students who are not quite ready for mainstream college. We aim to bridge this gap by meeting their individual needs.
Based in Woodford Green, Essex we have students from across the county as well as the London Boroughs. Although we are a Roman Catholic school we welcome pupils from all faiths and backgrounds.
We are very proud of our school and our team of highly skilled and dedicated staff, including music, speech and language therapists, learning mentors and learning support assistants who work together to ensure that our pupils achieve and grow in confidence and self-esteem within a community of care and learning; developing their independent living skills to their full potential. We offer a curriculum that is varied and challenging and as students progress through the school many achieve accreditation through AQA awards, OCR, Asdan and BTEC where this is appropriate.
Our pupils tell us that St John’s is a happy school and I hope that our website gives you some insight into life here at St John’s. You are very welcome to speak to or visit us in person to find out more.
